Getting married at Cliveden will hopefully be just the beginning of a marriage made in heaven, with memories to last a lifetime. Britain’s highest-rated five red-star hotel, Cliveden was built in 1666 by the 2nd Duke of Buckingham as a hunting lodge and is set within 376 acres of formal gardens and parklands with views over the Berkshire countryside. Your wedding breakfast, lunch or dinner will be held at the lavish Rococco French Dining Room, which caters for up to 60 guests. Wedding ceremonies can be held at either the Mountbatten Suite or Lady Astor Suite, which has a private terrace overlooking the River Thames. Intimate wedding parties of up to 12 guests are held at the romantic Spring Cottage which played a role in the Profumo scandal of the ‘60s.
A personal butler is at the guests’ beck and call. More lavish wedding parties of over 60 guests can be accommodated on an exclusive use basis and there’s also an option to hire one of their chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce Phantoms.

As you enter the property, you are led through a tree-lined avenue towards a screen of arches. The main house dates back to 1559 and the entire property exudes romantic, old-world charm.

A unique feature is the barn at Stable Yard and its beamed high vaulted ceilings and a separate panelled dance room with exposed wall timbers. There is a bar and ceremony room connected to the main barn by an old-fashioned wooden staircase. If the wedding couple wishes, a Marquee can be set up in the Walled Garden.


Nether Winchendon House is not licensed to hold civil ceremonies and does not provide catering and entertainment services. This is an ideal reception venue for couples who prefer to choose their own caterer and music service.

Wedding hotel KentEvery wedding is special, but at the Stoke Park Club it becomes extra-special. Set in a 350-acre estate, the Stoke Park Club dates back to the Doomsday Book, when it was presented to William de Stoke by King William I. Between 1581 and 1603, it was owned by Queen Elizabeth I and in 1647 King Charles I was held
prisoner here. Fastforward to the present for Stoke Park’s role in film history.

Bridget Jones slept at the Club’s Pennsylvania Suite and James Bond defeated Goldfinger on a game of golf back in 1964. Weddings are held at the Clubhouse, a Palladian mansion designed by James Wyatt, architect to King George III.
